My Dad told me once that I was not an artist, because at the time I wasn’t making any art. So I’ve been a professional woodworker for the past 20 years. But alas, the repressed artist in me has come out like a festering sliver: slowly and painfully.

If you were to meet me in person, I am a little shy, but I have been described by those who have gotten to know me as a closet extrovert.

Thank you- I’ll be watching for your posts!
Hi, just visited your FB artist page, and look forward to more work on your blog. Thanks for visiting my blog. Little more fascinating than a portrait.
Thank you Elena! Visited your page as well- amazing work, it’s inspiring.
I would have said a professional woodworker IS an artist… I’m glad you have let the artist out…
Ah yes, woodworking is my ‘second choice’ passion, (unless I’m carving, which bumps it up) Always room for improvement in life….
Oh, a little package arrived in the mail today and oh, oh, what a gift! My girls snatched out of my hands before I could look, of course, and declared it “pretty” (which means masterful, in kidspeak, in case you didn’t know). I know I”m probably effusing, but it feels like being seen, like a wonderful connection with the universe. Thank you so, so much.
You’re welcome Anna. I am happy you (and your girls) like it! And thank you for the meaningful comment- it’s very validating for me as a portrait artist!
